Who We Are:

We are Oak & Laurel, a landscape design and build firm dedicated to full-scale design-to-install work, guiding projects from conception to completion.

What is Oak & Laurel?

The name Oak & Laurel represents the juxtaposition of the bold and the meek. The structure and the detail. The form and the function.

  • Oak: A hardwood tree species known for its strength and durability.
  • Laurel: A delicate flower known for its fine details and unique design.

What We Do: Improving quality of life through creation and inspiration.

We offer a range of specialized services, including:

  • Boutique Style Landscaping: A specialized, curated, and exclusive approach to products or services, focusing on high quality, unique designs, and personalized experiences.
  • Land Stewardship: The responsible management, protection, and restoration of natural resources and ecosystems to ensure their long-term health, biodiversity, and sustainability.
  • Artisan Craftsmanship: Goods produced by skilled workers (artisans) primarily by hand or with minimal machinery if applicable, emphasizing high-quality, unique, and often sustainable results.
  • Full-Service Maintenance: A comprehensive, all-inclusive, or, in some cases, end-to-end, offering that covers every aspect of landscaping.

Founding Brothers Benjamin & Christian

Both founders share a lifelong connection to the outdoors, with a passion for landscaping that began at a young age working at a local nursery. That early hands-on experience sparked a deeper commitment to the craft and laid the foundation for their careers.

Ben built his experience from the ground up, working with local landscapers throughout high school and college before advancing into roles with multiple award-winning design-build firms. He holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Landscape Architecture along with an Associates degree in Arboriculture and Urban Forestry Management, bringing a well-rounded and technically grounded design perspective to every project.

Christian followed a similar path, gaining years of hands-on experience with local landscape companies after his time at the nursery. He earned a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration in Finance and Management from the University of Maine, Orono, and after graduating during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021, transitioned directly into building and operating the business.
