Meet the Founding Brothers & Get a Glimpse at Their Stories

Christian (left), the younger of the founding brothers, is the anchor of the Oak & Laurel family. His “nose to the grindstone” attitude and attention to detail keep our office running smoothly like a fine tuned machine. Christian is a versatile worker who not only has years of landscaping and nursery experience, but also brings knowledge of the small business world. He obtained a double degree in Business Finance and Management from the University of Maine Orono, where he resided on the banks of the Penobscot River. In his free time, Christian enjoys fishing, hiking, biking, and other outdoor activities.

Ben (right) is one of the founding brothers of the Oak & Laurel family. Through his time spent as a youth exploring the many woods of New England, he fostered a great affection for the outdoors. After working as a landscaper and a greenhouse worker, Ben attended the Stockbridge School of Agriculture where he graduated and went on to earn a second degree in Landscape Architecture at the University of Massachusetts. After a period of time working in the city of Cambridge for an award winning landscape architecture firm, Ben decided that he missed the intimacy of local residential landscaping and thus the seed of an idea that is now Oak & Laurel was planted. Through Ben’s partnership with his brother Christian, the seed has grown into a sapling… and now a small tree, which continues to reach towards the sky. When Ben is not spending his time tending to the Oak & Laurel tree, he enjoys visiting local botanical gardens and exploring rural New England with his brother and four-legged friend, Rizzo.
