: Deadheading Rhododendrons/Azaleas :

Many people know of Rhododendrons and Azaleas by their abundance of beautiful flowers, but not everyone knows that you can actually help your plant produce even more blooms each year by deadheading them!

Once the flower clusters on your Rhodies and Azaleas have withered away, they can actually be removed (but watch out to not remove any new shoots or buds). This will help your plant to focus its energy on producing new blooms for the next season instead of creating a large production of seeds. Your plants will also be thanking you for keeping them looking nice and tidy!
